Since graduating from the Government College of Art & Craft in 2007, Ananta Mandal started to achieve his goal of becoming an artist. To his credit, he already has had fourteen one-man shows in India's finest art galleries, with three of his one-man shows at the prestigious Jehangir Art Gallery located in Mumbai, India. Mr. Mandal has also participated in over forty national and international art exhibitions, and has been acknowledged for his outstanding work by winning numerous awards. These awards include, but are not limited to, the following: 2017 Award - Northwest Watercolor Society, International Exhibition, U.S.A.; 2013 First Place - 36th International Exhibition, Houston Art Society, U.S.A.; 2011 Best Landscape in Watercolor, Bombay Art Society, Mumbai, India; and 2010 Best of Show - Western Federation Watercolor Society Annual International Exhibition, Utah, U.S.A.

Ananta Mandal is considered an expressive and imaginative painter. He paints using a variety of mediums - watercolor, acrylic, and oil. The majority of Mr. Mandal’s paintings are created in the impressionist style with loose, spontaneous brushstrokes. Urban landscapes with people describe the main subject of most of his paintings. At a young age, Ananta Mandal has already achieved a successful art career. With so much talent, energy, and drive to continue learning his craft, we have much more to look forward to from this young inspiring artist.
